What’s happening at LoC?
On April 1, 2025, the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, firing unprovoked after a mine blast in Krishna Ghati Sector.
Defence PRO Lt Col Suneel Bartwal confirmed that Pakistani troops had crossed the LoC, triggering the explosion.
Indian forces responded calmly and kept the situation under control. While no Indian casualties were reported, sources say five Pakistani soldiers were injured.
This isn’t the first breach - Pakistan has repeatedly broken the 2021 ceasefire pact, with past incidents in Akhnoor and Samba leading to Indian casualties.

Bharat is set to cut tariffs on American products, according to Trump, ahead of his April 2 tariff plan announcement.
While details remain unclear, U.S. officials have pushed for steep tariff reductions on automobiles, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed Bharat imposes a 100% tariff on U.S. farm goods, though actual rates average 39%. Non-tariff barriers are also a key issue, with India seeking work visa reforms.
With U.S.-Bharat trade talks ongoing, a partial trade deal is expected by Fall 2025, but Trump's final stance on reciprocal tariffs remains uncertain until April 2.
Adani Ports' stock surged nearly 1% after the company reported its highest-ever cargo volume of 41.5 MMT in March 2025, a 9% jump from last year.
Mundra port became the first in India to handle over 200 MMT in a year, while Vizhinjam port crossed 100,000 TEUs in March.
Overall, Adani Ports managed 450.2 MMT in FY25, up 7%, driven by a 20% rise in container volume. Logistics rail volume grew 8% to 0.64 million TEUs, and GPWIS volume hit 21.97 MMT, up 9%. Investors responded positively, with the stock gaining nearly 13% in just over a month.
Central Bank of India’s stock has hit an 18-month low, plunging 11% to ₹36.86, marking a 16% drop over three days.
