📌 After Ola, Blinkit is under fire
Comedian Kunal Kamra criticized the Indian quick commerce industry, particularly Blinkit, for allegedly exploiting gig workers. In a New Year's post on X, Kamra questioned Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa about the wages paid to delivery partners in 2024. This was prompted by Dhindsa's tweet highlighting Blinkit's New Year's Eve sales data.
Kamra accused platform owners of lacking innovation and creativity, instead profiting from worker exploitation under the guise of offering "freedom" with insufficient wages. He compared them to "landlords without land" and "thugs using data as oil without paying for the oil fields."
📌 Vodafone Idea plans to launch 5G mobile broadband services in 75 cities
The plans will be priced up to 15% lower than rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. The telco aims to regain customers lost to competitors and focus on industrial hubs with high data usage.
Vi recently secured $3.6 billion in deals with global vendors like Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung to enhance 4G coverage and roll out 5G services. It plans to deploy 75,000 5G sites over three years, initially using C-band and 1,800 MHz spectrum. Vi's CEO, Akshaya Moondra, hinted at competitive pricing to attract users.
Shares of Vodafone Idea saw a slight uptick, trading at Rs 8.06, though volumes were below the two-week average.

CLSA downgraded Wipro to "hold" from "outperform," maintaining a price target of ₹303. It cited flat constant currency growth for the quarter ended December and noted that Wipro's growth needs to align with peers for a valuation rerating.
Citi retained a "sell" rating with a price target of ₹280, and Morgan Stanley maintained an "underweight" stance with a target of ₹250, highlighting limited financial impact from recent acquisitions.
BNP Paribas set a bearish price target of ₹232.5, while Investec reiterated a "sell" with a target of ₹290, emphasizing the need for better capital allocation and shareholder payouts despite Wipro's $6.1 billion cash reserves.
