As we start this fresh week, we dive straight into important updates.
⚠️ HMPV virus has reached India
An eight-month-old baby in Bengaluru has been diagnosed with the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), marking the first reported case of the virus in India. Notably, the child has no travel history, and the Karnataka Health Department has confirmed the case to the Union Health Ministry. It remains unclear whether this strain matches the one causing a surge in cases in China.
So, adhering to preventive measures and staying informed through credible updates is key to safeguarding yourself and your community.
Now, let’s get started with the BUSINESS UPDATES…
📌 ITC falls 6%
Shares of ITC Ltd fell 6% in early trading on Monday following the demerger of its hotel business into a separate entity, ITC Hotels, which will soon be listed on stock exchanges. The decline reflects the notional value of the demerged hospitality business, with a Rs 27 adjustment from ITC’s share price. Eligible ITC shareholders will receive one share of ITC Hotels for every 10 ITC shares held.
📌Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine As Light' loses at Golden Globes 2025

📌 OYO says no hotel rooms for unmarried couples
OYO has introduced a new policy requiring all couples, including those with online bookings, to provide proof of a valid relationship at check-in. The rule, already enforced in Meerut, bars unmarried couples from booking rooms in OYO partner hotels. While this policy currently applies only in Meerut, OYO is assessing feedback before considering a broader rollout.
The move comes in response to local petitions and civil society suggestions aimed at addressing societal concerns. It seeks to reshape OYO's public image as family-friendly and safe for women.
📌 Dabur India shares fall
Dabur India’s stock declined by 3.37% to ₹507.35 after the company announced a low single-digit growth in consolidated revenue for Q3 FY25, attributed to weak demand in its healthcare and beverage segments. The company also expects flat profit growth year-on-year for the quarter ended December 31, 2024.
