The Indian stock market is taking a break today, February 26, 2025, in observance of Maha Shivratri.
Both NSE and BSE, along with trading in equities, derivatives, SLBs, currency, and interest rate derivatives, will remain closed.
However, commodity derivatives trading will resume in the evening from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM.
Looking ahead, the market will observe a total of 14 holidays in 2025, including Holi (March 14), Eid (March 31), and Diwali (October 21-22). Regular trading resumes tomorrow!
Adobe launches free Photoshop app
Adobe is bringing Photoshop to mobile phones for the first time, offering both a free and a paid version.
The premium version costs $7.99 per month (its lowest price yet) compared to the previous $9.99 iPad subscription.
The free iPhone version is available now, with an Android version coming soon.
With Apple and Google offering built-in photo editing features, Adobe is targeting younger, mobile-first creators who need more advanced tools.
Even the free version includes features like layering, masking, and text addition - great for social media, podcasts, and YouTube content.
SpiceJet turns profitable
The airline reported a ₹26 crore profit in Q3FY25, a sharp recovery from last year’s ₹300 crore loss.
Revenue soared 35% YoY to ₹1,651 crore, fueled by higher passenger demand and better pricing. It also achieved an impressive 87% Passenger Load Factor.
On the debt front, SpiceJet settled liabilities worth ₹1,700 crore at a reduced ₹1,233 crore, saving ₹467 crore. Key settlements were made with major aircraft and engine lessors.
Financially, EBITDA jumped to ₹210 crore (from ₹3 crore last year), and YTD losses were trimmed to ₹267 crore. The airline is also raising ₹3,000 crore via QIP and expanding its fleet.
Employees got a boost too, with new ESOP allocations.

Nykaa allots 90,500 shares under ESOP scheme
Nykaa’s latest ESOP allotment is valued at around ₹1.49 crore, based on its opening share price of ₹165 on the NSE.
These shares hold the same rights as existing ones, adding to previous ESOP allotments from November 2023 and October 2024, totaling 4.8 lakh shares in Q3FY25.
The beauty giant, led by Falguni Nayar, saw 27% YoY revenue growth in Q3FY25, reaching ₹2,267 crore.
Profit surged over 50%, touching ₹26 crore. The beauty segment drives over 90% of revenue, with fashion contributing nearly 9%.
Zomato invests Rs 1,500 crore in Blinkit
Zomato is doubling down on quick commerce, injecting another ₹1,500 crore (~$178M) into Blinkit just a month after a ₹500 crore infusion.
This aggressive move highlights its commitment to dominating India’s rapid delivery space.
Despite a 64.4% YoY jump in Zomato’s Q3 FY25 revenue to ₹5,405 crore, profits shrank 57.2% to ₹59 crore.
Blinkit, however, surged 117% in revenue to ₹1,399 crore, fueled by growing consumer demand for speed.

Zara has shut its flagship store in South Mumbai’s historic Ismail Building after nine years, making way for luxury retailer Purple Style Labs.
The high-end fashion chain, known for Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, has leased the 60,000 sq. ft. space near Flora Fountain for five years, with rent starting at Rs 36 crore annually and rising to Rs 45.6 crore by year five, about Rs 10 lakh per day.
Experts speculate high rent, shifting foot traffic, and Zara’s strong presence in Lower Parel’s Palladium Mall led to the exit.
