Before we start with today’s edition, Bharat.Inc would like to take a moment to pay homage to martyred Army Jawan M. Murali Naik.
He lost his life during the heavy shelling by Pakistan on the LoC.
We will forever be grateful to your sacrifice.
Now let’s start…
📌India successfully intercepted 300-400 drones from Pakistan
Pakistan launched a coordinated aerial intrusion using approximately 300 to 400 drones during the night of May 7 and 8. The attack targeted 36 locations across Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining states, coinciding with heavy shelling in the Uri sector.
“Initial reports suggest that they are Turkish Asisguard Songar drones,” confirmed Colonel Sofiya Qureshi at a media briefing held by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday.
According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the Indian armed forces swiftly intercepted the intrusions using both kinetic and non-kinetic methods.
“The Pakistan army violated Indian airspace several times across the western border, attempting to collect intelligence and test our air defence capabilities,” Colonel Qureshi added.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh also noted that while multiple drones were neutralized, a detailed forensic analysis of the drone debris is underway.
📌 24 airports shut as conflict grows
As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate under Operation Sindoor, 24 airports across northern and western India have been shut down, severely disrupting air travel across the country.
The closure follows Pakistan’s heightened military aggression and India’s retaliation targeting terror hubs across the border.
The shutdown of key airports, many of which serve as emergency diversion bases, has forced both Indian and international airlines to reroute their flights via the western corridor, mainly through Mumbai.
Pilots now face increased flight times and limited options for unscheduled landings, raising safety and logistical concerns.
The ripple effect is evident in rising congestion in Mumbai and surrounding airports, further complicating an already volatile situation in the skies.

📌 India’s IPL got suspended
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) for one week due to escalating border tensions and airspace closures in Himachal Pradesh.
A special train was arranged to evacuate players and staff from Dharamsala to Delhi after air travel became unviable. With only 16 matches remaining in the tournament, including the playoffs and final, the suspension has caused significant disruption.
The suspension has triggered unease among overseas players, particularly Australians and English cricketers.
Several players, including Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Jos Buttler, are already returning home or arranging flights.
The now-abandoned PBKS vs DC match in Dharamsala, which included notable Australian figures like Starc and Ricky Ponting, has become a focal point of safety concerns.
Meanwhile, England’s 10 IPL players are scrambling for flights either back to the UK or to the UAE, hoping to remain nearby in case the tournament resumes.
