Hey, it’s Tuesday! Did you know? Today is Give-Back-Tuesday here at Bharat.Inc. This week, as we team up with Child Heart Foundation, we're exploring how even small acts of kindness can ripple into bigger changes. Grab a cup of chai and join us in making today meaningful.
Now, let’s start the day with a positive thought:
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others
When you immerse yourself in helping others, you can discover strengths, perspectives, and values within yourself that might otherwise remain hidden. Focusing on the needs of others often helps you gain clarity on your own purpose and identity.
So, let’s get started…
Before we start with today’s edition, did you know that Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is one of the most common birth defects worldwide?
In India alone, approximately 200,000 children are born with CHD each year, but tragically, only 20,000 receive life-saving surgeries. The rest? They either face a grim future or join the long waitlist for care.
This is where the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) steps in.
The Heart of The Matter
Founded in 2013 by Dr. Vikas Kohli, a pediatric cardiologist, alongside seven parents who faced similar struggles, CHF aims to make a difference for underprivileged families whose children are born with heart conditions. These families often grapple with the dual challenges of financial constraints and lack of awareness about their children’s health needs.
CHF’s mission is crystal clear: they seek to provide access to high-quality pediatric cardiac care, emphasizing early detection and timely treatment. Their initiatives include:
Free echocardiographic screening to detect heart abnormalities
Funding surgeries for those who cannot afford them
Educational resources for both families and healthcare professionals
Community awareness programs that highlight the importance of understanding CHD
