Welcome to your Thursday dose, where we spill the news before your coffee gets cold.
Today’s lineup: A Noida woman lost ₹51 lakh to a scam that started with just ₹1,000 (yikes!), Tesla is finally setting up shop in India, and a boatman’s family made more money in 45 days than most startups dream of.
Now, let’s get to it! 🚀
📌 Top Headlines of the Day
Tesla signs lease for first India showroom
The EV giant has signed a lease for its first showroom in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, a prime business hub.
The five-year lease kicked off on February 16, 2025, with an initial annual rent of $446,000, increasing 5% yearly to hit $542,000 in year five.
This comes after Tesla scrapped similar plans last year but now seems serious about selling imported cars in India.
Reuters also reported that Tesla is eyeing another showroom in New Delhi. All this buzz follows Elon Musk’s recent meeting with PM Modi in the U.S.
Noida woman loses Rs 51 lakh in Amazon scam
A woman from Greater Noida lost over ₹51 lakh in a WhatsApp investment scam that started with a seemingly harmless ₹1,000 Amazon gift voucher.
Scammers, posing as stock market experts, lured her into a group where they shared fake success stories. Gaining her trust, they convinced her to invest small amounts initially, even showing fake profits through a bogus app.
Encouraged, she kept investing, eventually borrowing money from family, only to realize it was all a fraud when someone warned her. When she demanded her money back, the scammers vanished. She later filed a complaint with the cyber police.
Scammers are getting smarter. A free gift or high-return promise is often bait. If you’re added to an unknown WhatsApp group, exit immediately.
Never trust unsolicited investment tips or click suspicious links. When it comes to money, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

PM Modi encouraged women to share their inspiring stories on the NaMo App, with selected voices taking over his social media on March 8.

For boatmen who typically earn just ₹1,000–₹2,000 a day, this was a once-in-a-lifetime windfall.
Over 66 crore devotees flocked to the grand religious gathering, and thanks to the UP government’s initiatives, business boomed. Pintu and his mother, Kalavati, were so thrilled that they distributed sweets in celebration.
The state pumped ₹7,500 crore into the event, boosting tourism and infrastructure—think new roads, flyovers, and even a modern airport terminal.

📌 Crypto News
How did the crypto market react to Trump's crypto reserve announcement?
Crypto markets saw a major shake-up after Trump announced a Crypto Strategic Reserve on March 2, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Cardano. Traders rushed to capitalize on price swings, triggering massive sell-offs.
Bitcoin inflows to exchanges skyrocketed, peaking at 6,739 BTC per hour, while Ethereum saw 300,000 ETH hit exchanges in an hour. XRP wasn’t far behind, with 2 billion tokens moved in two days, mostly from whale transactions.
This surge in exchange inflows signals strong selling pressure, as traders locked in profits from the market spike. Despite the volatility, CryptoQuant analysts noted spot demand remains weak, with Bitcoin’s growth slowing since late 2024.
For now, it seems the market is adjusting to the news, but whether this reserve plan boosts long-term confidence in crypto remains to be seen.
